Darcie Clarke
B.A., M.C., CCC darcie@heartwoodfamilywellness.com Darcie is inspired by the resiliency that can be found in people from all walks of life, and in every corner of the globe. She believes there is strength to be found in everyone: that sometimes it just takes a nurturing hand, an understanding ear, and an open heart to create opportunity for individuals to find what is innately within themselves. It is through genuine connections and feelings of care and compassion that individuals can begin to feel worthy and cared for, capable of achieving their goals, and improving their sense of well-being. Darcie values the therapeutic relationship and the importance of creating a safe space where clients can explore and challenge themselves. In addition to working with couples, children and youth, Darcie is particularly passionate about providing competent support for queer and trans folks. Her counselling approach is relational and integrative, most closely aligning with person-centred theoretical ideas and concepts. Darcie strongly believes in the power of being present for the client, providing them with care, empathy, compassion, genuineness, and positive regard. Throughout the counselling process Darcie also utilizes approaches such as CBT, SFT, mindfulness, art, and play therapy techniques. |
