Qualifications
Shyla is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), certified through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). She earned a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (with distinction) from Yorkville University, a Bachelor of Arts, and a Post Degree Professional Program in teaching from the University of Victoria. Shyla also has experience supporting people to thrive in their environments - both in her previous work as a teacher and then when she ran a consulting firm dedicated to helping organizational leaders to build healthy and engaged workplaces. In addition to her formal qualifications, Shyla engages in ongoing training and professional development, such as the Flash Technique. The Flash Technique is a recently developed evidenced-based therapeutic intervention for reducing the disturbance associated with traumatic or other distressing memories. |
