BA, MSc, RCC [email protected] Sophie comes from a background of working within community not-for-profits in the Greater Victoria area. She embodies the practice of trauma-informed, client-first care in her work, stemming from her career in crisis-response and community-led cooperatives. She brings an open, authentic, and curious approach to her practice, creating a safe space for clients to explore what brings them to counselling. Sophie works within a range of experiences, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, crisis, trauma, self-esteem, and identity exploration. Using different therapeutic modalities, Sophie works with clients to overcome negative behaviors and create new thought patterns, mindful habits, and positive self-reflection. Sophie is well-versed in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Somatic Therapy and she holds a special place in her heart for Compassion-Based Therapy. Sophie utilizes clients own strengths and collaborates with clients to endorse positive self-reinforcement, and is open to using a variety of techniques with her clients. |
